About the Friends
The Friends of the Orpheum Theatre is a volunteer organization whose purpose is to provide educational, operational and fundraising support for the Orpheum Theatre, which is owned and operated by the City of Phoenix, Convention Center & Venues. This organization provides ushering services at the Theatre and Friends volunteers conduct regular complimentary guided tours of the Orpheum Theatre through their trained Docent program.
The Friends are critical behind-the-scenes individuals who truly become a part of the Theatre through their volunteer efforts. They reap the personal reward of helping the community as well as everyone who attends events at the Theatre. In addition to giving back to the community, they are able to enjoy memorable performances, at no cost, as well as meet and make new and oftentimes lasting friendships. There are currently more than 250 active Friends members. New volunteers are always welcome.
The Friends also have an Outreach program, designed to provide a theatrical experience to those who otherwise might not have the opportunity. To find out if your organization or group qualifies for this program, please contact us.
